Biografia

Dopo la laurea in Ingegneria delle Telecomunicazioni all’Università di Padova, entra nel progetto GARR-B nei primi anni 2000, vivendo il passaggio da INFN a consorzio. Collabora allo sviluppo della rete GARR-G come responsabile dei GigaPoP. Si diploma in regia e sviluppa un percorso parallelo nel cinema e nella pubblicità come autore e regista, lavorando nel documentario e nel branded content, con Red Bull Media House, Sky, Discovery e molti altri. Esperto di linguaggio audiovisivo, ha tenuto laboratori in diverse Università italiane. Oggi è Head of Communication and Content di Namex, dove si occupa della narrazione delle infrastrutture digitali e lavora per raccontare e spiegare Internet a pubblici diversi, dal BGP ai Social Media.

Le radici del futuro

Quest’anno si celebrano i 40 anni di internet in Italia e la nascita del nome GARR con i primi incontri per la realizzazione di una rete unitaria a livello nazionale. Quanto è cambiato il mondo da quel primo ping che ha rivoluzionato tutto? Dialogo con i pionieri delle reti in Italia: dialogo tra storia dell’innovazione, cultura della rete e prospettive future della comunità scientifica e digitale.

Bio

After graduating in Telecommunications Engineering from the University of Padua, he joined the GARR-B project in the early 2000s, overseeing the transition from INFN to a consortium. He collaborated on the development of the GARR-G network as head of GigaPoPs. He earned a degree in directing and pursued a parallel career in film and advertising as an author and director, working on documentaries and branded content with Red Bull Media House, Sky, Discovery, and many others. An expert in audiovisual language, he has taught workshops at several Italian universities. Today, he is Head of Communication and Content at Namex, where he focuses on the narrative of digital infrastructures and works to explain the Internet to various audiences, from BGP to social media.

The roots of the future

This year marks the 40th anniversary of the internet in Italy and the emergence of the name GARR, with the first meetings aimed at creating a unified national network. How much has the world changed since that first ping that revolutionised everything? A dialogue with the pioneers of networking in Italy, bringing together the history of innovation, network culture and future perspectives of the scientific and digital community.
